Once upon a time there was a young psychiatrist called Hector, who was not very satisfied with his humdrum life. Hector embarks on a journey around the world to learn what makes people happy and sad. As he travels from Paris to China to Africa to the United States, he lists his observations about the people he meets. Is there a secret to happiness, and will Hector find it?
Disillusioned psychiatrist Hector confesses to his girlfriend that he feels like a fraud for dispensing recommendations to patients who never seemed to improve or get happier. He considers breaking out of his lackluster routine. Summoning up some courage, Hector gives his starved curiosity free reign and embarks on an international quest to find the right formula to bring him joy and vitality.

In Hector and the Search for Happiness, you’re more likely to leave the theater with too sweet of a taste in your mouth than actually happy because the comedy is schmaltzy and generic. The dialogue is corny at times, which I can’t say for sure if it’s the screenplay’s fault or the popular novel it was adapted from written by Francois Lelord because I’m unfamiliar with it.

Okay just by judging on the critics score for this film (So far, it might charge later on in the future) 3.5% on RT and on Metacritic it has a 2.9% out of 100.
