Eat that question. "Eat that question" from "The grand wazoo" (1972) has a central theme of four bars in E Dorian as its basis. It introduces a keyboard solo, followed by Zappa on guitar, and it returns at the end of the song. During this end this theme is getting played denser in phases.
Like its immediate predecessor, Waka/Jawaka, The Grand Wazoo was a largely instrumental jazz rock album recorded during Frank Zappa's convalescence from injuries sustained after being pushed off a concert stage. While Zappa contributes some guitar solos and occasional vocals, the focus is more on his skills as a composer and arranger.

Not a piece of music by Frank Zappa. Of all the jazz influenced pieces in Zappa’s early career, (meaning this, Hot Rats, Waka/Jawaka, and his work with Jean-Luc Ponty), The Grand Wazoo is surely the most definitive. To use the cliché, the melodic sections are more melodic, and the music as a whole reaches lofty heights.
