Marc Lawrence After selling a script to "Family Ties" creator Gary David Goldberg in 1984, Marc Lawrence joined the staff of the beloved sitcom as a writer and later as a producer. Also the creator of the short-lived series "Pride & Joy" (NBC) and "Monty" (Fox), the screenwriter entered into features with the 1993 comedy "Life with Mikey," starring fellow "Family Ties" alumnus Michael J. Fox.

With a background that included much stage work and even some opera singing, Lawrence was nurtured in Hollywood by director William Wyler. He moved from New York to California and in 1932 made his film debut with a bit part as an unnamed hoodlum in "If I Had a Million."
After years of playing together, they officially created Lawrence, an eight-piece soul-pop band comprised of musician friends from childhood and college. The band has since gained a devoted following for its high- energy, keyboard-driven sound, which features tight, energetic horns and explosive lead vocals.
