Karin Konoval s'installe au Canada avec sa famille alors qu'elle est enfant et grandit à Edmonton. Elle étudie à l' université de l'Alberta puis déménage à Vancouver afin de devenir actrice. Elle est surtout connue pour son rôle de l'orang-outan Maurice dans la série de films La Planète des singes 1 (à partir de 2011).

Karin Konoval (KK): It’s about two years after where we left off in “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.”. There’s been a great deal of war and the apes have suffered a bunch of losses so it has been a very, very tough time. JH: In the first film, Maurice was the only other ape who could talk to Caesar at the time.
