Lo started her career as the lead singer and songwriter in math rock band Tremblebee from 2006 until 2009.

The first version of "Habits" was released by Tove Lo independently on the 15th of March 2013. The song was re-named "Habits (Stay High)" after she had gotten signed to Universal Music. It was issued as the second single from her EP "Truth Serum" and the first single off of her debut album "Queen of the Clouds".
