Roxanne is een nummer van de Britse band The Police uit april 1978. Het is de debuutsingle van het allereerste album Outlandos d'Amour eveneens uit 1978. Het nummer werd geschreven door de leadzanger van de band, Sting, en gaat over een man die verliefd wordt op een prostituee.De single werd in februari 1979 heruitgebracht. Roxanne komt voor op alle greatest hits albums van de band.

Written by the leader singer and bassist Sting (real name Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner), “Roxanne” is about a man who falls in love with a prostitute, trying to convince her to stop her profession: “you don’t have to sell your body to the night”.
The Police nailed the sound for that era of the 70's and 80's. Roxanne from Florida I was definitely the first Roxanne in London, U.K. I ran into school telling everyone I’d heard it on the pirate radio station: Radio Caroline when I was a teenager. I’ve seen Sting and the police perform it many times at concerts in London.
