17 de jun. de 2020 · I wrote an exam a couple of months ago and I recently received an email accusing me of academic misconduct. I had just finished my first year of university and this is the first time that I am receiving a letter of this kind. One of the long answers that I had written matched an answer that was posted online on a homework solutions website.

Misconduct in research, as understood here, includes: fabrication or falsification of data, plagiarism, interference with the integrity of the work of others, or misappropriation of ideas of others. An inquiry is initiated upon submission to the dean of a written statement which lays out the allegations and evidence.
Procedure for Responding to Allegations/ Complaints of Research Misconduct. 3.1 Conducting the Investigation and Inquiry. 3.1.1 Initiation of the Investigation. 3.1.1.1 Upon receipt of the Allegation/ Complaint, the RIO or a nominated person from Senior Management is to undertake a preliminary inquiry into the matter that has been reported.
If the misconduct involved research funded in whole or in part by one of the national granting Councils or another funding agency and misconduct was found to have occurred, a copy of the Final Report will be transmitted to that Council or other funding agency by the VPA within 30 days of the conclusion of the inquiry/investigation.
