Kevin Whately is an interesting actor, and I've seen him only in one other role--a very different character on one episode of "Inspector George Gently" in 2012. Nonetheless, I had low expectations for "The Broker's Man," which preceded the Morse and Lewis series, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and acting in this series.
