Among his many credits, he performed bass and backing vocals on the 1985 James Brown hit Living in America.He also performed on the 1993 Steve Vai album Sex & Religion, alongside Devin Townsend and Terry Bozzio. In later life, he was diagnosed with dementia, and had resided in an assisted living facility since at least 2017.
