John Hackett & Nick Fletcher biography John HACKETT - A British flute player born 13 March 1955, the younger brother of Genesis guitarist Steve HACKETT.He also plays guitar, bass, bass pedals and keyboards. He started performing and recording with his brother, and making guest contributions to albums such as Anthony PHILLIPS' "The Geese And The Ghost".
28 de mar. de 2024 · The flute-playing that might otherwise have fallen to Peter Gabriel was by Hackett’s younger brother, John, a classically trained virtuoso who featured on many Steve Hackett solo albums from that point on, and became part of his elder brother’s touring band until 1983. “It was an incredibly exciting time for John and I,” says Hackett.

John also loves melody, so even though I go off on a tangent sometimes, I think he appreciates the melodic aspect that I bring to the John Hackett Band. I don’t like to be put in a box as a blues, rock, jazz or classical guitar player.
