I liked her stuff from this period pretty well, it conjured up the times and all that, but I must stress that this was all 1960s ephemera to me – I had no idea at all that ...
The UK vinyl release Marianne Faithfull - A Childs Adventure was one of a list of "demonstration records" that I saw in a Hi-fi magazine of the early- to mid-1980s. Not because it jumps out of the speakers at you, or necessarily has the 'wow' factor, but because the production is quite subtle and a good turntable/amp/speakers combination is needed to pull out all the detail.
