"Spiegelsaal" and "Trans Europa Express" hardly have any musical substance - it's all about fancy sounds going back and forth, and those sounds do not sound as fresh as they did in 1977. It is not the first time that I am disappointed by the overly hyped Kraftwerk. I guess, I just stick to the above mentioned 2 albums, and that's about it.

The song’s ear-piercing synthesiser riff proved hugely influential on early hip-hop artists such as Afrika Bambaataa, who sampled the track on his groundbreaking 1982 electro-rap hit Planet Rock.

Trans-Europe Express is one of the most significant works in the Kraftwerk canon as this is the album in which the art-music hippies began their transformation into electro-pop robots.It’s also the album that had the most far-reaching impact, as it inspired African-Americans from New York City and Detroit to create their own musical and cultural identity.

7 de abr. de 2005 · The production is clear and powerful and overall "Trans-Europe Express (Trans-Europa Express)" is a very enjoyable and quite intriguing electronic pop album. It´s incredible how innovative Kraftwerk were in those days. They took musical chances like few and the boldness of it all is just extremely charming. A 4.5 star (90%) rating is deserved.
