Ryan has a more southern hard-rock vibe, while Jasen is wayyy more nu-metal in his voice and appearance. I love Ryan but I'm really sad that Jasen left. I'm also surprised that this announcement came so immediately without any build up whatsoever.
Ryan McCombs (born July 16, 1974 in Muncie, Indiana) is a heavy metal vocalist. From 1997 to 2004 he was the vocalist of the hard rock band Soil. Since 2005, however, McCombs has served as the vocalist for Drowning Pool. In November 2011, McCombs parted ways with Drowning Pool and returned to his original band, Soil.

It's official: Ryan McCombs is returning as the front man for Drowning Pool. The singer will play his first shows back with the band on Friday, March 17 (at Club L.A. in Destin, Florida, with Adelita’s Way and Otherwise), and Saturday, March 18, headlining the inaugural Throwdown at the Campground festival in Fruitland Park, Florida.
