Leopold Stokowski Director de orquesta angloestadounidense Leopold Stokowski nació el 18 de abril de 1882 en Londres. Hijo de padre polaco y madre irlandesa. Asistió a la Universidad de Oxford y al Royal College of Music de Londres. En el año 1905 fue organista de la Iglesia de San Bartolomé en la ciudad de Nueva York.
