In 2008, creator and writer Ryan Murphy (Glee) released a web series called Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. The series is a science fiction musical comedy that stars Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother) as the title character, a struggling comedian who decides to create a one-man show based on the songs of the 1980s pop group The Bangles.
