Swiss Family Robinson: Created by Irwin Allen. With Martin Milner, Pat Delaney, Willie Aames, Eric Olson. Karl Robinson, his wife, two children and an orphaned girl end up on a volcanic island after a shipwreck. Also on the island is Jeremiah Worth, who was abandoned there seven years earlier.
I like 1940's 'Swiss Family Robinson', though there are many ways it could be improved upon which is what I hope the 1960 production does. This one, made by RKO Pictures, is enjoyable.
Swiss Family Robinson is a 1974–75 Canadian television drama series, based on Johann David Wyss' 1812 novel The Swiss Family Robinson.. The series consisted of 26 30-minute episodes, and diverged somewhat from the original novel. Only one season was produced, due to the development of a Swiss Family Robinson series in 1975 by ABC in the United States.

Despite some criticisms (members of the “Swiss” family have American and British accents, and the heroes possess inexplicable skills to overcome almost any obstacle), the film’s rousing and heartwarming story proved popular with moviegoers.

Source Swiss Family Robinson is a 1960 feature film starring John Mills, Dorothy McGuire, and Sessue Hayakawa in a tale of a shipwrecked family building an island home.It was loosely based upon the 1812 novel Der Schweizerische Robinson (literally, The Swiss Robinson) by Johann David Wyss.It was directed by Ken Annakin and shot in Tobago and Pinewood Studios outside London.
