29 de nov. de 2006 · while the rock steady album may be disconcerting to those that expected flo & eddie rock, this was flo & eddie's 1981 tribute album in which they expressed their love for reggae music. every song has a tight "rock steady" beat. numerous clicks, shakes and boinks embellish the background and the vocals are "dignified" and excellent.
If you want to hear the Turtles, buy their old CDs. You won't find any of that in Flo and Eddie. Al Nichol was the genius behind the Turtles, along with extraordinary drummer Johnny Barbata. Mark (Flo) and Howard (Eddie) have karaoke voices and are about as witty as a used Q-Tip. This is a waste of money.
Performing under the name the Phlorescent Leech & Eddie, they eventually shortened their moniker to Flo & Eddie. They recorded seven solo albums, eventually producing inexplicably weird reggae albums, but their real name was made by their radio show, which started out in the mid-'70s in Detroit, but eventually ended up on KROQ in California and was syndicated by nearly 50 stations at its peak.
