This 1972 debut album, & indeed Cale's entire recording career, may not have existed had it not been for Eric Clapton recording & releasing perhaps JJ Cale's best known song, After Midnight, in 1970. Following the release of 'Naturally', several well known artists from the same era covered songs from the album - which says a lot about the quality of the content the album contains.

Back in the early ’70s, the popularity of J.J. Cale was practically inexistent. Best known for the covers made by Eric Clapton of two songs (After Midnight and Cocaine), Cale over time developed a unique style.
