Douglas Carl Engelbart (n. 30 ianuarie 1925, Portland, Oregon, SUA – d. 2 iulie 2013, Atherton (d), California, SUA) a fost un inventator american și un pionier al Internetului. Părinții săi au fost Carl Louis Engelbart și Gladys Charlotte Amelia Munson Engelbart.

As such, he developed the mouse. The first version was actually a wooden device that came on two wheels and was attached to the computer via a wire.

Douglas Carl Engelbart (30. ledna 1925 – 2. července 2013) byl americký vynálezce a průkopník v počítačové a internetové technologii. Je nejznámější pro svou práci nad problémy interakce člověk-počítač, kde vynalezl jako první počítačovou myš , dále rozvíjel hypertext, počítačové sítě a vytvořil předchůdce grafického uživatelského prostředí ( GUI ).
Douglas Carl Engelbart (1925-2013) enjoyed a life-long track record in predicting, designing, and implementing the future of organizational computing and organizational transformation. The grandson of early pioneers of the West, he grew up during the Great Depression on a small farmstead near Portland, Oregon.
