Subsequently, Nathan-Turner largely focussed on pantomimes via his company, Teynham Productions. In 1996 and 1997, he wrote a series of sometimes brutally-honest reflections for Doctor Who Magazine. I'm just starting season 18 right now, but I can already tell the difference in style. I read online that it's due to John Nathan-Turner wanting to change the creative direction of the show, and it seems like everyone pretty much hates what he did on the show.
