Jo Brand is an English actor, writer, presenter and stand-up comedian. Formerly a psychiatric nurse, she rose to fame amidst the alternative comedy scene of the 1980s on television programmes such as Saturday Live, before achieving more mainstream success in the 1990s and 2000s, including her own series such as Jo Brand Through The Cakehole, and comedy drama Getting On.
