  5. Earle Brown was also an accomplished record producer. His studies in music, mathematics and engineering, and his involvement in the 1952–54 “Project for Music for Magnetic Tape” with John Cage, David Tudor and Louis and Bebe Barron, provided him with the skills and experience to support himself as a recording engineer for many years.

  7. Earle Brown (1926–2002) war eine der zentralen Erscheinungen der zeitgenössischen Musik und führender Komponist der amerikanischen Avantgarde seit den 1950ern. Den Komponis­ten John Cage, Morton Feldman und Christian Wolff war er freundschaftlich und künstle­risch verbunden; gemeinsam mit Brown wurden diese später der so genannten „New York School“ zugerechnet.
