Delbarton’s fourth headmaster, Father Gerard Lair, O.S.B. (1975-1980), initiated major changes in school life. The traditional system of discipline, with demerits and detention, was eliminated in favor of "discipline by conversation," designed to bring about positive changes in boys.
Delbarton School normally accepts a small number of students every year to 8th, 10th and 11th grades. The process is independent of the process for the 7th and 9th grades. Delbarton does not accept into the 12th grade or mid-year applicants to any grade. Finally, please note that financial aid is often limited for transfer applicants.

Monday, December 4 - Last Day To Submit SchoolAdmin Application and Submit Clarity financial aid application. Wednesday, December 6 - Application completion deadline. Friday, January 19 - Admissions and Financial Aid notifications are emailed at 4:00 pm.

Students who are taking Advanced Credit classes and do not attend Delbarton School must check with their own schools for their policies on summer school work. Final Examinations for all classes, both virtual and in person, will be in person on July 26, 2024; Students are not allowed to switch back and forth between virtual and in person classes.
