P'tang, Yang, Kipperbang is a delightful and often hilarious coming-of-age tale with a real tenderness for Alan Duckworth’s small yet all-consuming triumphs and disasters. It might not all ring true, particularly the subplot involving the wartime exploits of groundskeeper Tommy, but the raw emotions it evokes certainly do.

John Albasiny stars in the role of a cricket-obsessed adolescent, Alan Duckworth, who lusts after his classmate Ann (played by Abigail Cruttenden).

Summer, 1948. 14-year-old Alan has just three wishes: that there will be lasting peace, that England will win the Ashes, and that he will finally kiss classmate Ann. So when he's cast opposite her in a play that requires a kiss and England seem to be doing well in cricket, life couldn't be better.
P'tang Yang Kipperbang is still as fantastic as i remember it when i was a 12 year old .This film has a certain type of brilliance that not many films possess. It is engrossing , it is briliantly acted and best of all it makes me feel like a kid again and there isnt many things that can do that.
