27 de abr. de 2022 · Last Edited=6 Jan 2013. John Manners, 8th Earl of Rutland was born on 10 June 1604. He was the son of Sir George Manners and Grace Pierrepont. He married Hon. Frances Montagu, daughter of Edward Montagu, 1st Baron Montagu of Boughton and Frances Cotton, in 1628 at Barnwell Castle, Northamptonshire, England.2 He died on 29 September 1679 at age 75.

The 9th Earl was created Duke of Rutland in 1703. In 1717 John Manners, later 3rd Duke, married Bridget (d. 1734), daughter and heir of Robert Sutton, 2nd Baron Lexinton, but the Kelham (Nottinghamshire) estate of this family descended to younger sons of the marriage, who took the name of Manners-Sutton.
