The Allman Brothers Band didn't record their first album until after they'd worked their sound out on the road, playing heavily around Florida and Georgia. Their self-titled debut was a solid blues-rock album and one of the better showcases for guitar pyrotechnics in a year with more than its share of albums by Cream, Blind Faith, the Jeff Beck Group, and Led Zeppelin.
