The name Clovis Colony High School was initially approved by CUSD's Governing Board for the first new high school the district had built in 10 years. The idea for the "Colony" name was a tribute to a time when, in the late 1800s, various small area schools annexed themselves into larger ones to form schools which became known as colonies.
Clovis East High is a public high school serving 2,768 students in grades 9-12 in Clovis, California, which is part of the highly-ranked Clovis Unified School District. This diverse school consistently performs well academically, ranking in the top 15% of California high schools and boasting a 96.3% four-year graduation rate, far exceeding the state average.
