Born in Macclesfield on November 29, 1933, Mayall 's first group was the Manchester based Blues Syndicate which he formed with drummer Hughie Flint. Relocating to London in January 1963 he formed the first incarnation of The Bluesbreakers which included bassist John McVie and guitarist Sammy Prosser.
