Quadrophenia ist ein Musikalbum der britischen Rockgruppe The Who.Es erschien als Doppel-LP im Oktober 1973 und war nach Tommy die zweite Rockoper der Gruppe.Die Lieder wurden von Pete Townshend komponiert. Quadrophenia is a double album released by English rock band the Who on 26 October, 1973. It is the sixth studio album by the group. In addition to the group´s typical style – including Keith Moon´s characteristic drumming – this album also features as lot of Pete Townshend´s multi-track synthesizers and sound effects, and layered French horn parts performed by John Entwistle.
Quadrophenia is the soundtrack album to the 1979 film Quadrophenia which refers to the 1973 rock opera Quadrophenia. It was initially released on Polydor Records in 1979 as a cassette and LP and was re-released as a compact disc in 1993 and 2001. The album was dedicated to Peter Meaden, a prominent Mod and first manager of The Who, who had died a year prior to the album's release.
