16 de mar. de 2023 · Why this St. Patrick's Day feels extra green for Twin Cities band Belfast Cowboys Two members trekked to Northern Ireland to explore Van Morrison's roots ahead of the band's 21st anniversary Friday.
The band's first show was on St Patrick's Day, 2002. In December, 2008 The Belfast Cowboys and St Dominic's Trio released debut CDs. In August, 2009, The Cowboys headlined at BB King's Blues bar in Times Square, New York. In July, 2010, the Cowboys played a three hour opening set for approximately 15,000 people opening for the band Chicago.
The Belfast Cowboys are a nine-piece, horn-driven band from Minneapolis that specializes in the music of Van Morrison, mixing rock, blues, roots and soul sounds. Led by veteran songwriter and guitarist Terry Walsh and powered by a four-piece horn section, the Cowboys have flourished in the renowned Minnesota music scene, and have consistently packed houses and wowed crowds since 2002.
