Cheap Thrills, Big Brother and the Holding Company's second album, is often considered very good, but in my opinion it is the least essential album Janis Joplin was originally ever involved in. "Piece of My Heart" is a classic performance of course, and the sound of the guitar played by Sam Andrew is overall great, but that is nearly all you need to write home about the album.

Album originally released in July 1968 as Columbia KCS 9700. Remastered in 1999 with four bonus tracks (8-11). Track 8 and 9 recorded March 25, 1968, previously unissued outtakes from the "Cheap Thrills" studio sessions. Track 10 and 11 recorded March 2, 1968 live at The Grande Ballroom, Detroit, previously unreleased. Printed in U.S.A.
