31 de ene. de 2024 · The pandemic-induced hiatus provided Sayce with a unique opportunity to delve into his creative process. “This music was really created during a bleak time and it was done really without any filter,” says Sayce. Recording the album during this time allowed him to pour his soul into the project, free from external influences.

From the moment Philip Sayce first put his hands on a guitar neck, he never let go. Malcolm Gladwell theorized that “greatness” requires 10,000 hours of practical training. A teenage Sayce had easily surpassed this threshold when his hometown hero, legendary guitarist and multi-platinum artist Jeff Healey, caught Sayce playing a ferocious set in downtown Toronto.

Now after much anticipation, Sayce makes his triumphant return with Spirit Rising.The album is produced by Michael Nielsen, who produced the Peace Machine record.
