  5. Dave Mason is a 1974 album by Dave Mason and was released on the CBS Records label (a subsidiary of Columbia Records). It was reissued on CD on the One Way label in 1995. This album marked a major change in Mason's sound after his blues rock sound with his Blue Thumb Records releases, blending pop rock and yacht rock.

  7. I like Dave Mason a lot, but not this album. On _Mariposa de Oro_ Mason forgets what a great guitarist he is, and concentrates on singing. Now he's also a pretty good singer, but the over the top production by Mason, and the high harmonies by Jerry Williams combine with schlock ballads to give you an album full of songs best suited for one of those "Lite Rock" radio stations.
