  1. Like Flies on Sherbert is the first solo album released by American pop rock musician Alex Chilton. He had previously recorded a collection of songs in 1969 and 1970, ultimately titled 1970 , but this was not released until 1996.

Chilton had a hard time getting his early solo work distributed, and this album turned out to be no exception.

By 1970, Chilton had enough of constant touring, worldwide recognition and the creative frustration of performing other people’s songs for teenage audiences.
