- The College
Peterhouse is the oldest of the constituent colleges in the University of Cambridge. It was founded in 1284 by Hugo de Balsham, Bishop of Ely, on its current site close to the centre of the City.
Peterhouse has its main site situated on Trumpington Street, to the south of Cambridge's town centre. The main portion of the college is just to the north of the Fitzwilliam Museum , and its grounds run behind the museum.
Just 5 minutes’ walk from the city centre, Peterhouse is an exciting and friendly place to live. It’s perfectly situated for student life – close to the arts, engineering and science faculties, but just off the tourist trail.
