Ardakan (Persian: اردكان) is a city in the Central District of Ardakan County, Yazd province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district. At the 2006 census, its population was 51,349 in 13,730 households. The following census in 2011 counted 56,776 people in 16,198 households.
La ciudad de Ardakan está situada en el corazón del desierto central de Irán, en la llanura de Yazd-Ardakan, a una altitud de 1035 metros sobre el nivel del mar y en la carretera de Teherán a Kerman y Bandar Abbas. El clima de Ardakan es frío y lluvioso en invierno y caluroso y seco en verano.
