The 1897–98 Yale Bulldogs men's basketball team represented Yale University in college basketball during the 1897–98 season. The team finished the season with a 12–9 record. They were disqualified for playing a game against 4th Sep. Company in Yonkers but were later reinstated.
Penn and Yale played in the First College Basketball game with five men on a team in 1897. In 1969 -- against the wishes of the NCAA -- Yale Jewish center Jack Langer played for Team United States at the 1969 Maccabiah Games in Israel. He did so with the approval of Yale President Kingman Brewster.

The 1896–97 Yale Bulldogs men's basketball team represented Yale University in intercollegiate basketball during the 1896–97 season. The team finished the season with an 11–5 record [1] and was retroactively named the national champion by the Premo-Porretta Power Poll .
