Production on Toy Story began in late 1991 after Pixar and Disney agreed to make a movie based on the characters from the 1988 Pixar short, Tin Toy. This logo was used as a placeholder on a behind-the-scenes teaser in the spring of 1995.

Toy Story is a 1995 American animated comedy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures. The first installment in the franchise of the same name, it was the first entirely computer-animated feature film, as well as the first feature film from Pixar.
The film's working logo, seen on the teaser trailer. Toy Story began its life as an extension of Pixar's short Tin Toy, which featured Tinny, a mechanical drummer who tries to find his way in a baby's playroom.
The Toy Story franchise consists mainly of five animated feature films: Toy Story (1995), Toy Story 2 (1999), Toy Story 3 (2010), Toy Story 4 (2019), and the spin-off film within a film Lightyear (2022). A fifth film was recently announced, which is set to be released in 2026.
