Thanks to the Splash team for believing in me with this project and for the awesome support and guidance! Got to paint my favorite champion for my first "official" in-house splash! This piece came with its unique challenges and obstacles, but overall learned a lot and overcame a lot to get to the final result!
I like this splash art. It doesn't have that "awaken" face they've been pushing since that cinematic and instead it's just focused on being a beautiful girl. No agendas. Though I agree it could look a bit more like Irelia's base splash/frostblade face instead of leaning so much on generic gacha game looks.

The Defiant Blade My splash illustration for Irelia's VGU - she is a beautiful, proud Ionian who has to defend and inspire her people in the face of Noxians who want to conquer her homeland. It was a major goal of the whole redesign to fully realize her graceful blade dancer fantasy.
These versions feature Irelia with soft eyebrows, smaller lips and braoder mid face. Her older splash arts like Nightblade, Infiltrator, frostbalde (debatable since it's side profile), Order of the Lotus and Divine Sword (+ Bo Chen's SB fanart) seem to take inspiration from Base Irelia's face shape.
