Pedro and Nico then witness Nigel capturing Jewel. When Blu and Rafael learn of it, they rush to the carnival to rescue her. Meanwhile, Linda and Túlio have spotted the smuggler's parade float and organize a rescue attempt for the birds. As Linda and Túlio pose as dancers in blue macaw costumes, Nigel captures Blu and the group.
When Nigel captures Jewel; Blu, Rafael, Nico, and Pedro rush to the parade to rescue her, but also end up captured by Nigel. Elsewhere, Linda and Túlio pose as dancers in Spix's macaw costumes to access the parade but are unable to stop the smugglers in time.
Nigel takes Jewel to the Carnival parade in the smugglers' float and uses her as bait to lure in Blu, Rafael, Nico, and Pedro. When they arrive at the parade, he captures Rafael, Nico, and Pedro unseen, then when Blu tries to release Jewel, Nigel ambushes him and locks him in a cage.
Blu retaliates by claiming to hate samba, much to Nico's tearful dismay. Incensed, Jewel snaps "See you around, pet!" and leaves. As she tearfully flies away, she is ambushed by Nigel. Outraged, she fights back but is quickly overpowered and captured by the cockatoo. Nigel then uses Jewel as bait to lure Blu into his trap on the smugglers' float.
