John Buscema was born December 11, 1927, in Brooklyn, New York. Even as a child, John showed a tremen- dous interest for art, especially the art he found in the funnies. Copying such notables as Hal Foster, Alex Raymond, and all the other great illustrators, John soon became entralled with the world of art.

Many popular and acclaimed comics artists since owe a debt of gratitude toward (and could still learn a lot from) a towering talent of the medium.

John Buscema (1927–2002) was one of the most prolific artists of his generation working on virtually every Marvel character in his career most notably on titles including Avengers, Silver Surfer, Thor, Wolverine, and his favorite, Conan the Barbarian.
