2 de ago. de 2022 · The postcard then made its way back to the US via ship and arrived in New London, Wisconsin on June 20, 1930, (see backside cancel, Figure 2) and was delivered to “Miss Helen Knapstein.” The postcard includes two cachets celebrating this flight: a German one in red and an American one in purple.
17 de feb. de 2018 · The back was for the address only. Graphics commonly seen on a Private Mailing Card. In 1901, the “Undivided Back” post card replaced the Private Mailing Card. Like the Private Mailing Card, the Post Office mandated that the “Undivided Back” could only contain the address, no other writing.

LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin had a long and celebrated career. Within weeks of its first flight in September 1928, the Graf Zeppelin carried the first airmail to go directly from Germany to the US and vice versa. Germany issued special 2-mark and 4-mark stamps for the occasion.
