Smoking Room. The smoking room, reserved for second-cabin men, was on Promenade deck ‘B’ just aft of the staircase. The room measured 52 feet x 33 feet (16 m × 10 m). The smoking room was decorated with mahogany panelling, blue-tinted sliding windows, white plasterwork ceiling, and a dome.

The Lusitania, the sister ship to the Mauretania, and was torpedoed by a German U-boat during World War I in 1915 off the coast of Ireland, sinking in 18 minutes. Over 1000 passengers died.

3rd Class. The men’s smoking room was on Shelter Deck ‘C’ on the port side close to the bow, directly across the ship from the ladies’ lounge and immediately above the dining room. The room was furnished with polished pine.
A Smoking Room with a barrel vaulted stained glass skyline was included for the Second Class gentlemen to enjoy. The Drawing Room on the Promenade Deck was furnished in the style of Louis XVI. The different shades of grey and rose complimented the satinwood furniture.
