Gran Torino fue el mentor de Toshinori durante alrededor de un año y se encargó de entrenarlo para que sea capaz de derrotar a All For One. Como su maestro él fue muy estricto y duro con el joven estudiante causándole temor y que incluso muchos años en el futuro y hasta la actualidad tiemble con solo escuchar su nombre.
