13 de may. de 2016 · In EF Code-First ForeignKey can be applied to properties of an class and the default Code-First convention for ForeignKey relationship expects foreign key property name match with primary key property.
1 de feb. de 2019 · There are workarounds for these problems, of course. For this problem, I always recommend setting the foreign key value (ProductId) instead of the instance. There are also ways to track the state and sort things out with EF prior to saving the data.

The ForeignKey Attribute in Entity Framework Core configures a foreign key relationship between the entities. It overrides the default foreign key convention, followed by EF Core. It allows us to specify the foreign key property in the Dependent Entity whose name does not match the primary key property of the principal entity.
The [ForeignKey (name)] attribute can be applied in three ways: [ForeignKey (NavigationPropertyName)] on the foreign key scalar property in the dependent entity. [ForeignKey (ForeignKeyPropertyName)] on the related reference navigation property in the dependent entity.
