1 de mar. de 2022 · We now know that child marriage is associated with girls being withdrawn from school [ 2 ], experiencing gender-based violence [ 3 ], social isolation and poor mental health [ 4 ], and unwanted or ill-timed pregnancy and poor maternal and child health [ 5 ].
Child marriage often compromises a girl’s development by resulting in early pregnancy and social isolation, interrupting her schooling, limiting her opportunities for career and vocational advancement and placing her at risk of domestic violence.
