18 de ene. de 2022 · The network of roads established in the Andean regions was a jewel in the crown of the Inca Empire. Ingenious suspension bridges were required to carry these routes over rapid torrents. Until recently, a few such bridges were still maintained, preserving possible echoes of Inca approaches to mobilising local labour.
Engineering marvel: The bridge is a testament to the advanced engineering skills of the Inca civilization. Building a functioning bridge in such a challenging location, on a narrow path carved into a cliff face, showcases their ingenuity and ability to work harmoniously with the rugged Andean landscape.
