greatest danger. Being a Lighthouse Keeper was not a job for the faint of heart. Keepers lived at the lighthouse and were at work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They could not call in sick and rarely took a day off. Lighthouse Keepers had to light the tower’s lamp every night and make sure that the lamp stayed lit until the sun rose the next day.
