Tamatoa's scene, bar none, my favorite scene in the film. He's an amazingly evil crab, and his song is the catchiest besides You're Welcome. The visuals and action were really well done, and it was worth staying after the credits to see him again! Worst Part(s): The aftermath of the first battle with Te Ka.
Tamatoa's defeat plays differently in the novelization The Story of Moana: after being knocked onto his shell, the creatures of Lalotai swarm Tamatoa and steal his shiny treasures against his protests. As he was powerless to stop them, Tamatoa's shell was left barren.

Tamatoa is the secondary antagonist of Disney's 56th full-length animated feature film Moana. He is a greedy, ruthless, narcissistic and selfish giant crab who loves to collect valuable objects for himself. He is also Maui's past arch-nemesis. He was voiced by Jemaine Clement.
