Unione Sportiva Salernitana 1919 is an Italian professional football club based in Salerno, Campania. The original club was founded in 1919 and has been reconstituted three times in the course of its history, most recently in 2011.
The 2021–22 season was the 103rd season in the existence of U.S. Salernitana 1919 and the club's first season back in the top flight of Italian football since 1999. In addition to the domestic league, Salernitana participated in this season's edition of the Coppa Italia.
The 2020–21 U.S. Salernitana 1919 season was the club's 101st season in existence. During this season, the club competed in the Serie B and the Coppa Italia. After several seasons at the Serie B level, Salernitana won promotion to Serie A at the end of the season under the tenure of head coach Fabrizio Castori.
